AMRITSAR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Amritsar International Airport, also known as Raja Sansi International Airport, before it was renamed in November 2010 to commemorate Guru Ram Das, the fourth guru of Sikhism and the founder of Amritsar, is 11 km from the city of Amritsar, India. The airport serves not only the city of Amritsar, but also the greater Punjab area. Amritsar Airport was recently refurbished. Newly finished Arrival and Departure Terminals were inaugurated on 25 February 2009.As a government designated international airport, the airport currently handles about 100 commercial flights a week, both international and domestic.
